PRP for Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis, or OA, is a chronic joint problem that occurs due to the breakage of cartilage. Cartilage is a protective tissue that covers the tip of bones at joints. It helps in easy friction of the joints. Due to age or injury factors, cartilage may get damaged due to which joint bones rub harshly against each other causing pain or stiffness.

What is PRP treatment?

PRP stands for Platelets-Rich Plasma which is obtained from your own blood sample. The blood is kept in a centrifuge and then platelets concentration is carefully separated. Next, the doctor injects this concentration into the affected area after numbing the region like knee joints.
